Claude + Atlas Red
Ask Claude for a mind map.
Get a real one.
Connect Atlas Red to Claude once, and the same request builds a real map in your workspace — editable, exportable, still there tomorrow.
Use it free — no card, no trial →
- Free forever — not a trial
- Up to 10 maps, kept for good
- Every export included
Free has no end date — upgrade only if you outgrow 10 maps. Works in Claude on the web, desktop and mobile.
Connect it once. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, paste app.atlas-red.com/mcp and sign in. Nothing to download.
Ask in plain words. "Make a mind map in Atlas Red of what we've talked about so far" — or of a project, a trip, the notes from a meeting.
Make it yours. Open the map Claude links to: drag branches, fold what's done, add your own topics — so it's there tomorrow, on your phone, ready to export.
Questions people ask
How can I make a mind map with Claude?
Two ways. Connected: add Atlas Red to Claude as a connector (steps below), then ask — for example "Make a mind map in Atlas Red of what we've talked about so far. If we haven't talked yet, ask me what to map." Claude builds the map in your Atlas Red workspace and gives you a link to it. Open it and keep going by hand, or ask Claude for the next round. Without connecting anything: ask Claude for the map as a Markdown outline, copy it, and paste it into Atlas Red — free, instant, no AI credits.
Can Claude make a mind map on its own?
It can draw one — as a Mermaid diagram or an HTML artifact. That is fine to look at once, but every change means asking Claude to redraw the whole thing: you can't drag a branch, fold one away, or add a topic yourself, and the drawing stays inside that chat. Connected to Atlas Red, Claude builds a real map in your workspace: every topic is a topic you can edit, move and fold; it outlives the chat; and it exports to Markdown, OPML, PNG, PDF, slides and more — on the Free edition too.
How do I connect Atlas Red to Claude?
On claude.ai: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. Name it Atlas Red, paste https://app.atlas-red.com/mcp as the URL, then choose Connect and sign in with your Atlas Red account — a Free account works and needs no credit card. Claude's desktop and mobile apps pick up the same connector. In a Claude Team or Enterprise workspace, an admin may have to add it first. In Claude Code it is one line: claude mcp add --transport http atlas-red https://app.atlas-red.com/mcp. Other clients: the full connection list.
What should I ask for?
Make a mind map in Atlas Red of what we've talked about so far. If we haven't talked yet, ask me what to map.
Make a mind map in Atlas Red of the pros and cons we just discussed, one branch per option.
Read my "Product roadmap" map and add a branch for everything we haven't scheduled.
Restructure this map so the three quarters are the top-level branches.
Set the status of every research topic we've finished to "Done".
Export the "Launch" map as Markdown so I can paste it into the doc.
Name Atlas Red in the first request of a chat so Claude reaches for the connector instead of writing an outline. Behind those requests Claude can create and rename maps, add topics and whole subtrees, update and delete them, draw and label cross-links between branches, fill in typed fields — a status, a number, a date — import an outline, export to any supported format, and undo and redo, so a change you didn't want is one step back.
What do I do with the map once Claude has made it?
Open it — the link is in Claude's reply, and the map is in your list at app.atlas-red.com. From there it is yours: drag branches into a better order, fold the parts you're done with, add notes and your own topics, colour the map by a field such as status. When you want help again, go back to Claude and name the map: "Read my 'Thesis plan' map and suggest what's missing." Claude works on the same map, so nothing gets copied back and forth.
Does it cost anything to use Atlas Red with Claude?
No — nothing, on every edition. The connector is Atlas Red's MCP server, which is free and never metered: Claude does the thinking on your own Claude plan, Atlas Red only stores and draws the map. It works on the Free edition (no credit card, no end date); Pro lifts limits, it doesn't gate this. Only photo and PDF import inside the Atlas Red app ever cost anything, because those need a model to read them.
I use ChatGPT, not Claude. Does this work too?
Yes. Atlas Red is in the ChatGPT plugin directory — install it, sign in, and start a request with @Atlas Red Mind Map. How it works in ChatGPT. Both connect to the same MCP server, so a map you start in one can be finished in the other.
